If you're Jewish, or know someone who is Jewish, or a run a website about Jews (yes, some people do that — go figure!), you might have received an email forward entitled "Why Are Jews So Powerful". The original, written by a Muslim professor, tries to figure out why Jews, such a minority, have achieved such great prowess in so many areas. It's actually a very positive article. (See, we all can get along.)

So the author proceeds to list a lot of important Jews. Jesus. Einstein. Freud. Ralph Lauren. Joe Lieberman. And a bunch of others.

And then he gets to the world of film. Here, our author is an expert. He proceeds to list some two dozen names, everyone from Cary Grant to Steven Spielberg.

And, for some reason, Sandra Bullock.

Say what?

Exactly how is Sandra Bullock Jewish? She was born in Alabama and is of German descent. Her mother's name is Helga... and no Jews have ever, ever been named Helga.

Not that we wouldn't mind having Miss Bullock. Especially the mid-90s version. But, sadly, we can no more go backward in time than we can claim her as a Jew.

Verdict: Not a Jew.
